Cultural and Racial Equity
We learn so much about each other through cultural practices, whether artistic or foodways or stories. My work centers unique cultural communities around the US and beyond. I promote cultural and racial equity through experiential arts events and programs.
Social Impact
Arts and culture can change the world for the better. Arts engagement improves people’s lives by building social bonds, community identity, neighborhood engagement, improving health and wellness, or addressing the policies and institutions that shape our lives.
Community Engagement
I believe in the tenet of “Nothing about us without us.” Our work needs to be developed in conjunction with the community it serves. Whether that means taking the arts to their central spaces or creating unique engagement programs, I build relationships with the community first, then create the work.
Upholding a high standard of artistic excellence builds trust with your community. Every event and program becomes a reliably high-level experience, even if they aren’t familiar with the art.
